Mental Wellness Year-round

Mental Wellness

The World Health Organization defines mental health and wellness as the "state...that enables people to cope with the stresses of life, realize their abilities, learn well and work well, and contribute to their community." WHO goes on to say that mental wellness "is an integral component of health...that underpins our individual and collective abilities to make decisions, build relationships and shape the world we live in." Mental health is something that everyone has to take care of!

Promoting mental well-being and the activities that contribute to it is essential. Here are some key ways that you can take care of yourself, courtesy of the National Institutes of Health:

  • Build resilience

  • Reduce stress

  • Get quality sleep

  • Strengthen social connections

  • Be mindful

  • Cope with loss
